"New Frontiers: A Multidisciplinary Approach to Gastrointestinal Health"

On Thursday, July 17, 2025, starting at 5:45 PM, the EBRIS Foundation of Salerno will host the meeting “New frontiers: the multidisciplinary approach to gastrointestinal health – From recent studies on the microbiome to the SimGAT project for the artificial assessment of gastrointestinal pH” .
The initiative, promoted by EST and the EBRIS Foundation with the support of the Stratego Group, will shine a spotlight on scientific and technological innovation applied to healthcare, with a particular focus on the SimGAT project. This patented device reproduces pH variations in the gastrointestinal tract in vitro, enabling more effective and realistic testing of enteric-coated tablets, supporting pharmaceutical and nutraceutical research.
After the welcome coffee and institutional greetings from the Mayor of Salerno, Vincenzo Napoli , the Vice President of the EBRIS Foundation, Giulio Corrivetti , and the Regional Councillor for Research, Valeria Fascione , the meeting will get into the heart of the matter with speeches from leading figures from the academic and scientific world.
Professor Alessio Fasano , President and Scientific Director of the EBRIS Foundation, will speak live from the United States to explore the latest evidence on the role of the microbiome in gastrointestinal health. This will be followed by a presentation by Professor Gaetano Lamberti , President of the spin-off EST and Professor of Principles of Chemical Engineering at the University of Salerno, as well as scientific director of the SimGAT – Simulation of Gastric Activity Tool – project, who will illustrate the device's technical characteristics and potential.
Giorgio Scala , President of the Saccone Foundation and head of 012Factory Salerno, and Ermanno Guerra , President of the Salerno Medical School Foundation, will also contribute. Journalist Gabriele Bojano will moderate the meeting.
